Test facility

Topell Energy has demonstrated the suitability of the Torbed^® reactor for torrefaction purposes in its torrefaction test facility. In order to test the reactor properties and to be able to deliver well-defined output specifications depending on the input material, a test reactor was commissioned in January 2009.

In addition to processing more than 800 samples successfully, the test reactor has provided the necessary data to optimize the equipment for the first commercial plant.

The test facility is currently based in the Gas-Wärme Institute in Essen (Germany).
