Other future markets for torrefied biomass are, among others:
- Direct use of biomass in large-scale and small-scale industrial heating, district heating and residential heating;
- Co-firing of coal and biomass for the production of steel;
- Application of biomass in the production of transport fuels;
- Application of biomass as a fertilizer (‘Biochar’).
