Topell Energy: an integrated torrefaction technology provider
Figure A below shows a simple representation of the biomass-to-energy value chain. Topell Energy is an integrated technology provider to torrefaction plants. The torrefaction plant makes up for one important process step, torrefaction, in the production of torrefied biomass. Other important process steps are the preparation of biomass (including sizing and cleaning) before torrefaction takes place, and compacting (e.g. pelleting) after the biomass has been torrefied.

The offering of Topell Energy will include, but is not limited to:
- Front-end and Detailed Engineering of a Topell Energy Torrefaction System (‘TTS’);
- Delivery of key equipment, including Torbed® reactors*, combustor, cyclones, heat exchangers, product cooling and process control system;
- Installation and commissioning of TTS.
